Tom Whitaker Returns to the ASP World Tour
After just missing out on the mid year reduction from the ASP World Tour, Tom Whitaker (AUS), 30, will rejoin the world’s elite as first replacement beginning with the Hurley Pro Trestles.
The veteran of the elite ASP World Tour of eight years, will return to competition for the next several events to replace injured Australian pro surfer Joel Parkinson (AUS), 29. Whitaker, who has finished as high as 8th on the ASP World Tour (2006), narrowly missed the ASP’s midyear field reduction which culminated last week at the Billabong Pro Tahiti.
For the next several events Tom Whitaker will have another opportunity to compete against the best surfers in the world on the ASP World Tour, next stop Testles, California USA.
